Real bride story: Lucy Dunn

This charming bride of ours is Lucy Dunn. She chose to be a Riki Dalal bride and we are so grateful. Being a bride is full of exciting moments and joyful memories!
 
This is her story, telling about her beautiful countryside manor wedding & her perfect Ariel dress! 

How did you discover Riki Dalal? 

By chance, I walked past a wedding dress shop when I was visiting a friend outside of my local area and I just knew that I had to go inside. Luckily the owner of the boutique had just had a cancellation so was able to fit me in there and then, which is when I found my dream dress and discovered Riki Dalal! I honestly felt it was 100% meant to be, the moment I tried it on I fell in love. I then decided to go to the flagship store in London to see the whole collection, but it was still the Ariel dress that I knew was the perfect dress for me. 

How was your experience in the Boutique? 

All the ladies in the London store were so friendly, welcoming, helpful and made me feel so special from start to finish. They made me feel comfortable and made the whole experience exciting and fun. We were welcomed with champagne and treats and anything I asked was never too much of a problem. The London boutique is so gorgeous! 

What made you choose the dress you chose and what was your favorite thing about it? 

The design of the lace on the dress is so beautiful and the shape of the dress was perfect for my body shape, I love the corset detail. The dress was originally strapless so I decided to customize it by adding little rhinestone straps and I also added custom beading to the whole top of the bodice and Riki Dalal added these extras perfectly I couldn’t dream of better service and it felt so amazing to be able to add personalized elements to the dress. 

How did you feel when you first tried on the dress and how did you know it was the right one for you? 

I had tried on many dresses in my dress search and none of them seemed quite right until I found Riki Dalal. As soon as I tried the dress on I cried and so did my mum, we both knew it was the one it felt so emotional and so right! It’s the best feeling when you find your dream dress, especially as I just by chance came across it. 

Tell us all about your wedding day! 

Our wedding day was set in a country manor hotel which had beautiful grounds and views. We had a black-tie wedding so it was so great to see everyone in their tux’s and long evening dresses all glammed up. We wanted a glam party and wanted everyone to have the best time! One of the highlights of our day was our live band, they were called the Function Band and they had everyone up on their chairs dancing throughout the whole dinner, it was amazing to see everyone having such a good time. It was a magical day to remember and I really felt like a princess in my dress.
