Real bride story: Leticia Salado

One dreamy wedding day in Dubrovnik Croatia is everything our gorgeous bride Leticia hoped for. Even though the wedding had a rocky start (no spoilers!) her dream day & dress came true.

Where (or how) did you discover Riki Dalal?

By pure coincidence! I had already bought a wedding dress, but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I made an appointment at a boutique near my job (Lillian Mae Bridal) to try on more. I had my heart set on a soft, flowy, romantic dress and as soon as I walked in, I saw the Riki Dalal Amor collection hanging on a rack. I was drawn to how beautiful ALL of them were. I was very lucky to have found them because I was the first person to try them on at that boutique. 

How was your experience in the Boutique?

The ladies working at the boutique were very accommodating and I ended up making a second appointment right after my first appointment so I could try on my top choices with a friend. They made the shopping experience very comfortable, warm and inviting. 

What made you choose your dress? What was your favorite thing about it?

I really liked Luna and Nina but what really set Emma apart was the long train, the transparent back detail, the nude tulle, and cape! 

How did you know it was “the one”?

My friend took pictures of me at the boutique and I could already imagine myself on my wedding day. It was all a very dreamy experience and was definitely the vibe I was going for in terms of how I imagined our elopement photos.

Tell us all about your wedding day!!!

Initially, my husband and I had planned to have a wedding ceremony with friends and family in Dubrovnik, Croatia but his parents didn’t get their passport on time so we had to cancel our wedding and ended up eloping instead. The day my husband and I exchanged vows was the day after my birthday (10/14/2019) and I actually woke up sick having developed a cold the night before. Despite not feeling well it was a very bright and sunny day and we took pictures at the Lovrijenac, the old city, Forest Park Velika and Mala Petka Park, and Srđ to name a few spots. Surprisingly, my husband was the one who proposed a 10-hour photoshoot that day and he did such a great job throughout the whole thing. Then we had dinner at a restaurant with a view of a 15th-century fortress and the Adriatic Sea. 

Leticia wore our Emma gown from the wonderful Amor collection. Emma is a strapless ball gown dress featuring a short floral applique corset, a flowing skirt made from many layers of glittering tulle, and a matching cape for a dramatic sight.
