Where (or how) did you discover Riki Dalal?
My maid of honor actually sent me a link to the Riki Dalal website, so I have her to thank! She knew I’d love the dresses and she was right.
I went through all of the dresses on the website and fell in love! After following the Riki Dalal Instagram page for a few months I had to book an appointment at the London store to see the dresses in person.
How was your experience in the Boutique?
This was the third wedding dress shop I went to and was by far the best experience. I went with my mum and my maid of Honor, we were all given a glass of champagne and then we got hunting! The boutique emailed me prior to the day to ask what dresses I had my eye on so they could get them ready for me. I tried on about 6 dresses and could have honestly said Yes to almost all of them!
The girls in the boutique were all lovely. Even when I went back for my fittings it was such a nice experience, the tailor listened to exactly what a wanted and the dress fit like a glove.
What made you choose your dress?
I knew I wanted my dress to be different, I was never going to choose a plain traditional white dress. My dress stood out to me because of the style. It has a high leg split and a mesh bit on the front. It also has this amazing embroidery all over. It’s a mixture of white, peach and has a mesh sparkly layer too. I had seen it on the website but didn’t actually write it down to try it on, but when I saw it in the shop I had to!
What was your favorite thing about it? & How did you know it was "the one"?
I think for me it was just how different it was. The thigh split definitely gave it an edge and also meant my shoes could be on show slightly too!
Saying yes to a particular dress is such a big decision. I loved all of them but when I tried this one on I welled up. I couldn’t fault it, it was fitted which is what I knew I wanted but the small train and all of the little details just made it perfect. And the veil just topped it off.
Tell us all about your wedding day!!!
We were actually meant to get married in June, but coronavirus had other plans! We had to postpone the wedding to September and had to cut our guest numbers down to 25, but we still had such a good day. Our venue was called ‘High House’ in Essex. We had the ceremony in their barn which looked amazing. We were surrounded by some of our closest friends and our immediate family. It was actually really nice to have something more intimate. Later in the day, we had some drinks in our garden and then went onto a restaurant.
Paige wore our unique Miley dress from the Amor collection. A romantic sheath silhouette dress featuring cutout neckline with 3D floral applique. Our Amore collection is full of romantic designs.
